Wow, I can't believe lil spark and I are 16 weeks, seems that time is flying and at the same time we still have over half of our journey left to go. 16 weeks makes me really think of the twins and how my time with them was winding down, little did I know it. Little Benny measured 16 weeks 5 days on his femur. This was the first indication that something was wrong at our ultrasound in January. I remember thinking, 16....we are supposed to be 19. I don't need to look at pictures to see what lil spark must be looking like because in the next few weeks s/he will be looking like the twins.
We are so thankful for this lil spark, who has brought back light into our life. Thank you Lord for this life inside me; keep lil spark safe and healthy, please.
In celebrating this new life here is lil spark's updates:
How far along: 16 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: not sure
Maternity clothes: yup-thanks Kristy, Christie and Anna and discover card reward points!
Stretch marks: nope
Sleep: Still peeing quite a bit at night, and using a blanket to snuggle with in between my legs and to support my arm.
Best moment this week: Finding the HB immediately on the doppler on Monday night. My new favorite song. We will have to figure out a way to record it.
Gender: 19 days and counting down! Lets all pray lil spark isn't shy.
Belly button in or out?: In, Chris informed me it is starting to go away!
Craving: not sweets, still really liking cold milk
What I miss: drinking the red wine at the vineyard we went to in Connecticut, it smelled really good, but I can do with out! Not complaining one bit!
What I am looking forward to: feeling lil spark move in the next few weeks, I have felt some tickles or bubble, but nothing I would 100% say is movement and my prenatal massage on the 18th!
Are you ready? Because in my opinion I think we have a tie on the belly this week.
baby center dot com "Get ready for a growth spurt. BRING IT ON WE ARE READY! In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop. The top of your uterus is about halfway between your pubic bone and your navel, and the round ligaments that support it are thickening and stretching as it grows. You're probably feeling a whole lot better as you settle into pregnancy, too. Less nausea, fewer mood swings, and "glowing" skin contribute to an overall sense of well-being. Soon you'll experience one of the most wonderful moments of pregnancy — feeling your baby move. While some women notice "quickening" as early as 16 weeks, many don't feel their baby move until about 18 weeks or more. (And if this is your first baby, don't be too impatient — you may not be aware of your baby's movements until 20 weeks or so.) The earliest movements may feel like little flutters, gas bubbles, or even like popcorn popping. Over the following weeks they'll grow stronger and you'll be able to feel them much more frequently."
Oh and don't forget to vote on the right for the gender of little spark....at the moment we are 80% girl and 20% boy!
